Merry Christmas!

It's that time of year again... man did it come fast! John and I were commenting today that Christmas is THIS week and soon, 2009 will be here. Makes me wonder how and when this happened? Where was I? LOL!
I hope you all have a GREAT and happy holiday this year and make every moment count! Remember to be extra nice to those around you.
Leanna made out very well so far this Christmas and we have not even celebrated it yet! We are going to Texas to visit my family for the holidays. Keep safe all of you!

Well found out a friend had a baby and another friend found out she's pregnant. Now I'm being asked when baby # 2 is coming. LOL! Hey, let me get baby # 1 under control & potty trained! LOL! Been a while since I wrote anything...

I hope everyone is doing fine these days. Leanna is getting SO BIG! She'll be 14 months next week. We are planning for our trip to Texas for Christmas. This will our first time on a plane w/ Leanna. Any and all suggestions welcome! LOL!! We bought her a seat since it is safer that way and she doesn't like to sit in our laps for a long period of time anyways. We'll bring food, beverages, etc... for her and some toys. She has not started coloring yet; although I'm not sure she'd know what to do w/ the crayons & paper anyways. Well, here's to trying!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEANNA!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEANNA! Leanna turned one year old today and is officiall a toddler. Part of me is sad to let go to the baby but I'm also excited for the toddler experience! I'll put some pictures up soon of our day today. We for birthday cake, we took her to Cold Stone ice cream and I shared a small cup of cake batter ice cream w/ chocolate fudge mixed in. Let's just say that Leanna was quite upset when all the ice cream was gone. LOL!! She completely enjoyed it!!!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL!

Leanna is almost one year old!!!

I still remember how excited I felt when we found out I was pregnant the end of last year. Talk about life changing...Here we are almost two years later. Leanna will be one year old next month! I can't believe how fast time goes by!!! She is 11 months old today. She grows so much and surprises AND amazes us everyday. She learns so quickly and is like a little sponge soaking everything in!Sometimes John and I talk about life before Leanna; funny thing is we really can't remember our life BEFORE we had Leanna. I know having her in my life has absolutely changed me so much... and for the better! Everyday I find myself becoming a better person not just because of her, but for her. I think if we truly opened our hearts to all the love we feel for our loves (whether that be our spouse and/or children) I think we'd die from the overwhelming sense of love, happiness and faith.

Crawling

I had meant to put this on the previous log. Leanna is up and about crawling! I mentioned to John she knows two speeds; fast and faster! LOL! She is pulling herself up on things and it's only a matter of time that she'll start cruising, creeping... whatever it is called she'll be walking here very soon!
We are planning her first birthday party and it's been so exciting!!!

VACATION and July 4th!!

John has left with Leanna to head to the family cabin in NC. I'm missing her terribly! :-(
I'll be leaving Thursday to drive up there with my father in law. My mother in law is with my husband and daughter. John said that Leanna has just had the best time so far looking at the trees and all the leaves! The cabin is deep within the mountains there in Murphy and it is SO quiet! There is no sound of the typical city and the air is very clean and crisp... also no humidity. Us Floridians ask, "What's no humidity?" LOL!! I'll be taking the camera so expect some pictures here soon!

Turning 10 months

Leanna is on the verge of turning 10 months old! She's grown SO much and is such a joy to have in our lives. She's a wonderful source of entertainment as well! She's now starting the "I'm not tired" whine before bedtime and sometimes, nap time. She fights & fights it till she finally gives up and crashes. LOL!! She's as healthy as can be as well, which is any parents wish for their child.
Here soon we'll be planning her 1st birthday. I can't believe it has gone by this fast! Those that are local, be expecting a birthday card invite in your mailbox!

9 months around the corner!

Here we come around the next corner of 9 months!! She's growing so fast and can wear a lot of her 12 months clothes. She's long & lean. She received her first two teeth on the bottom. Looks like the front four on the top row are about to come in. Wish us luck!! The bottom ones really show well now and it's cute to see her grin. :-)

8 Months old very soon!

It seems Leanna was only born yesterday, but she's turing 8 months old in 9 days! She has changed so much from the squinty blue eyed baby we brought home from the hospital, scared to DEATH and not sure what to do to a BEAUTIFUL steal blue eyed beauty that takes my breath away every moment of every day! She's close to crawling; she'll get on her hands & knees and sway front & back, then go to her tummy. She still has no teeth, but I know they are coming. I can see the little bumps under her gum line... then again, I've been seeing that for a while! Funny story, the other morning, some formula dried on her upper gum area RIGHT where her front tooth should come in. I yelled, "HONEY! She's getting her first tooth! She white capped!" I took the little gum brush we have for her and it came right off. Dang it! LOL!! Well, all in due time... hopefully not all at the same time!

7 Months and Disney bound again

Leanna is going to turn 7 months this coming Friday the 14th. She made it over the 1/2 way marker! YEY!! Leanna is growing so fast and she's learning & absorbing everything. She's learned how to sit on her own, not quite sitting up yet but I know she's close! She has not received her first few teeth yet but they are coming! You can see the little bumps where they are going to come in. Thank goodness for tylenol & benedryl! LOL!!

Disney Bound!

We are taking our first trip to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow (Sunday, 2/23). I know we'll have a GREAT time! Leanna will not remember the trip but I'm confident she'll have a great time.
I'll post some pictures sometime next week of our trip!

Anniversary and Adventures

John and I just celebrated our third wedding anniversary! We had a GREAT time! We stayed at a resort in Kissimmee, FL, Mike Ditka's Lighthouse Key and Spa Resort. It was BEAUTIFUL! My mom flew in from Austin, TX and stayed with us for just a bit over a week. She stayed with Leanna the night we went to the resort. It was great having her here. I didn't get to see much of her though since I did have to work. Hopefully next time I can take some WELL DESERVED time off! :)

Oh, and how cute is that picture? LOL!!

New career move!

I start the new position come this Monday, January 28th. I'm pretty excited about the advancement in my career.

In other news... LOL!

Leanna is about to turn 6 months old! Can you believe it? It still blows my mind how much she changes everyday and the impact she's had on our lives. John has always made me want to be a better person... now's my opportunity as a mother.

New Year and New Beginnings

So far so good... LOL!
Leanna is growing like a weed! She had a doctor's appt for some vaccination shots and she weighed in at 15 lbs 6 oz and was 25" long!! Great in growing and development, in the 50th percentile, still! WOO HOO!

Onto new beginnings...
I'm leaving Starwood Vacation Ownership to begin employment on January 28th with Orange Lake Country Club. It's also timeshare so the transition, I imagine, is going to be fairly easy... but we'll see. What I do for a living, Quality Assurance, they currently do not have in place. Myself and 2-3 more leads, assuming they are hired pretty soon, will be building up the structure and our own teams to run the QA department! This is a very exciting opportunity and I'm totally looking forward to the experience! WISH ME LUCK!! The position is 12 miles closer to home as well... so closer to home, closer to baby!
